Glow / Light sticks

Nope, i dun miss the goods. I can get these sticks anywhere, dun haf to travel outta my country to get them hehe. I juss miss movin them sticks around, while listenin to the electronica dance music. I really really love watchin pretty, kinda-blurry colors formed as i swayed the stiX around. I think, glow-sticking actually kinda similar to this one sport the gymnasts do, where they dance to some music while holdin long ribbons on each hand and turn it/ move it all around their bodies.

okay, here's a picture of some random "hand" glowstick clubber/raver. Of course, the colors shown out in the picture aren't as pretty as the real thing.

Now, i guess i'm busted. I never really learned and studied my college texts back in Columbus. Dunno why, just preferred to learn how to plae wit these stiX and other non-academic stuffs dats interesting =P

Usually, i choose pink and purple *what else* when i wanna play wit these lights and wow, the colors' reflection are simply fabulous, lotX of very cute purple pinkish shadows. Too bad, I have yet to find a suitable club here in Indonesia, where i can juzz freely get down with my glowsticks without people lookin at me weirdly.

There was once, during my visit to one of the clubs in Jakarta, the club was holding a special event. The management was distributing them sticks to the clubbers and i was so excited. I mean, where else could I get a chance to play with them but in a real dark club. I can't possibly play with them in my bedroom while listening to loud techno music, the atmosphere is just not there.

So i started to move my sticks real slow *lack of practice =P*, then i went faster and faster and faster *i guess the speed accelerated coz i drank lotX more liquor hehe, so my body, and my hand practically loosen up*

Whoaa, my friends were protesting. "What the heck is wrong with u, Yul?! Are you freakin drunk and an erroneous YOU suddenly decide to pop out from nowhere?!?! Why are you continuously turning, moving those things?? Calm down and chill out, okay"

In the end, i juzz sat down, i dare not move the sticks around no more, i was actually kinda embarassed as well, being watched by other clubbers as this "crazy gal" suddenly gone wild turning light sticks in the middle of the dancefloor. I juzz dun like being the center of an attention.

My friend told me dat, there are annual outdoor rave parties in Jakarta, where lotX of ravers are goin nuts playin these sticks while no one cares. Too bad, I just dare not sneak outta the house to attend some rave party, which end really2 late or should i say, reaL "early". If my dad find out about it, i might be gettin some serious scary ultimatum once i reach home.

Back in my secondary skool days in Singapore, i actually saw some clubbers played with these sticks while i clubbed but since 2004, i noticed the clubs there didn't actually haf any more of these glowstick clubbers around. I guess, the clubs in Singapore are just gettin more stuffy and packed...dun even think about playin with the lights, you can hardly walk around while u are inside these clubs.

Anyway, you can also move the magiX with these lights by attachin the end of the sticks with some thick strings . Maybe, this style of glow-sticking is actually the one really similar to the ribbon sport i mentioned above. Here's one "string" glowstick clubber/raver. so what about YOU?? Ever try out the art of glowsticking, or maybe, you are actually a regular glowstick clubber. Btw, if any of you happens to knoe any club in Jakarta or Singapore that support the 'glowstick-ers', please let me knoww!!!
I'm so eager hoping to play with them again, as long as the venue is a glowstick-friendly club. Its not too bad, you know, I consider it a way of doing arm exercise...
